Join us in congratulating our triumphant team as they successfully completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge during the Henry Schein Cares CSR event on 9th September.
Joining forces with Team Schein Members and Henry Schein Dental brands, the BioHorizons Camlog team scaled Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, to help raise over £11,000 as a collective for a very worthwhile cause.
Starting their climb at 6am in humid conditions, the team conquered a challenging 24-mile (38.6km) round-trip route that traversed the three peaks, and all without any transportation assistance. With a formidable ascent of 1585m (5200ft), they managed to achieve this remarkable undertaking within the tight 12-hour window.
Naomi Pleasant’s, BioHorizons Camlog Marketing Manager and Yorkshire 3 Peaks victor commented.
“It was honestly the hardest thing I have ever done, as you’re on your feet all day, using so much energy, and with no escape from the weather. We just kept reminding ourselves of who we were there doing it for! Afterwards, I thought “absolutely never again”, however now the muscles have eased, and my legs are no longer visibly shaking, I now have a time I want to beat in the future – so watch this space!”
Their determination mirrored the unwavering spirit of those they’re supporting at Naomi House & Jacksplace, making this endeavour even more inspiring as they helped raise over £1,200 for the chosen charity. Naomi Pleasant’s, sheds light on BioHorizons Camlog’s decision to support this charity, who specialise in offering expert hospice care to over 550 children, young adults, and families with life-threatening conditions across central southern England.
“Having worked with Naomi House & Jacksplace for several years, it’s harrowing to think the charity needs to exist let alone there are only a handful of hospices aimed specifically at children and young adults. Coupled with the fact they need to raise over £9 million each year to deliver the vital services they do, and only get 10% of their income from statutory sources, we want to do all we can to help them continue to be there for seriously ill children, young adults, and their families.”
Join us in supporting our brave team who embarked on this exciting challenge! It’s not too late to donate and your help means the world to us and to the incredible charity, Naomi House & Jacksplace.
